Error: Ethernet cable is unplugged

Open DavidUXer opened this issue 3 years ago • 8 comments

Trying to revert a WAX202 to stock firmware. When I enter the command and plug in the power cord (there's no on/off switch), I get this error: Error: Ethernet cable is unplugged.

The cable is plugged in. Any thoughts?

Have you tried pressing Ctrl + C when you get the "Waiting for Ethernet connection." message?

Also, please try this version:

Hey, thanks for the help. The new version got me a bit farther, but I still got an error:

Advertising NMRP server on net31 ...
No response after 60 seconds. Bailing out.

Ctrl-C didn't have an impact

BTW, the WAX202 doesn't have a physical power button. I have to unplug the router in the step before entering the command. Not sure if that matters, but it's a data point.

Does this version change anything?

No luck -- thanks again for trying, though!

Hey, just want to give an update: I gave up trying to flash via windows and used my macbook instead. It took a couple of times but it worked when I CTRL-C'd and then plugged in. It's a great tool -- thank you!

I have a bunch of WAX202's I've been using this on, and Linux is by far the best bet (for autodetection anyway). I tried the Homebrew version on my Macbook, no luck. The same ethernet adapter on the same Macbook but in an Ubuntu VM worked ok (other than VM crashes). It works great on my native Ubuntu laptop and the RasPi I tried it on.
