Purge Deprecated - Doesn't appear to be working

I've gone through both branches on my SUS and have removed updates that I wish to remove from the server. Even after running a Purge space available isn't increasing and I still see the updates mentioned in the list. How can I confirm that the purge is actually running.

Can you explain some more. Are we talking about strictly deprecated updates here, ie updates Apple removed from their catalogs?
