What about a new release?

0.6.8 was released in 2016, perhaps time for a new release? There have been several bug fixes that would be great to see in a new release. Please let me know how we can help!

Sorry to say, but this project is likely dead. Hasn't been touched in a long while. pysam is the best alternative that I've found, and it works with the newer VCF formats much better.
