Expose some sort of interaction between people who want to read item when item is "marked as read"

This would be more reddit like. Maybe instead it's constrained to a group. If the 3 of us are a group it becomes like our email exchange but doesn't get derailed by a jackass. Only the people we want to talk to collaborate.
