put MacOS menu bar icon to better use

Feature request

Description

The Mac menu bar icon is currently used to show the connection status as black (connected) or grey (not conn.). This difference is hardly visible.

Describe the solution you'd like

First of all, use more obvious colors to show the connection status. Secondly, add a small char F (next) to the icon (e.g. top right) when the firewall is on, and a small char T (bottom low) when the anti-tracking feature is on. Even better, turn these chars red, blue, or grey depending on detailed status.

This feature would be extremely usefull on small(er) screens where to check the main client's window always takes several clicks.

Describe alternatives you've considered

the only alternative is to repeatedly bring the client's main window to the front of the screen, which is ... a pain.

It would be REALLY nice to get some feedback here, regardless of whether it is considered or rejected. No response signals "we don't care", and this is not what I have been told by "Ed".

@ajay-gh Thanks for your suggestions for improvement.

The current color of the menu bar icon follows the standard macOS coloring guidelines.

However, we are currently in the process of reviewing the application UI design across all platforms. The 'menu bar icon' is a part of this scope.

I cannot promise you if there will be any macOS icon changes or any timing estimates (because we are still discussing).

P.S.: In case of no response from our side - it just means that we have nothing to say currently. All the tickets which are not closed (like the current one) are on the list to be processed according to prioritization.

@cipheromega FYI

Another option might be to allow thte user to switch between two layouts of the main client window, one "regular" (as it is now), and one very small (similar to what you often see in podcast players). The small window could always stay on top of all windows and allow easier monitoring of what is going on on the VPN front. What to show ? just a few icons which show the same status (firewall, antotrack, etc.) as the regular window BUT using much less floor space. Just an idea ... thanks for a great service !
