Can't update packages

With a fresh updated Termux and Julia install on new LG G8 w Android 10, Julia will run fine, but an 'up' to install or update packages gives: ERROR: failed to clone from https://github.com/JuliaRegistries/General.git, error: GitError(Code:ERROR, Class:Invalid, invalid version 0 on git_proxy_options) There are old reports of a similar bug related to libgit2, but not sure they are relevant.
