I seccond this. However, instead of having this as a seperate feature, I think improving the markdown reader is a better choise.

What I am thinking is that you can create checkboxes using normal markdown syntax:

 - [ ] Task 1
 - [ ] Task 2

And these boxes can be checked off from reader mode
