[šŸ“š] Clarification/Support for US State Consent (CCPA, etc)

Open Zmwang622 opened this issue 11 months ago • 1 comments

Documentation Question

Hi team,

I’m using ā€Žreact-native-google-mobile-ads and have successfully implemented GDPR consent flows using the ā€ŽAdsConsent API. I see that the underlying Google UMP SDK now supports US state privacy laws (like CCPA, Colorado, Virginia, etc.) and that AdMob allows configuration of US state consent messages.

However, the documentation and examples for this library only mention GDPR/EEA consent. There is no explicit mention of support for US state consent flows, nor any examples of how to test or handle them.

Could you clarify: • Does the ā€ŽAdsConsent API in this library fully support US state consent flows (e.g., CCPA) if configured in AdMob? • Will the correct consent form be shown automatically to users in regulated US states, or is additional setup required in?

If this is not currently supported, is it on the roadmap? If it is supported, are there any code examples or best practices for testing US state consent flows with this library?

Thanks for your help!

Hi, see the official docs: https://developers.google.com/admob/ios/privacy/us-states

If you think this library is missing implementation or information, feel free to add it as this is a community effort. There is no roadmap. It's just users that add things when they need in React Native to this port.
