Add support for candlestick chart
Proposal: I'd like the ability to represent multiple layers of data for a single point in time with the same metric. The one I desire are candle stick charts.
Current behavior: Does not exist as far as I can tell.
Desired behavior:
Be able to show layers of data for single point in time.
an example above is for financial market data. The fat part of the candlestick is the difference between open/close price (filled in color means losses for the day and vice versa for unfilled/gains). The lines that extend from there are the mins and max. This is useful for a number of applications beyond finance.
Alternatives considered: Open to any and all possibilities
Use case: Like to be able to show compelling visualizations to make decisions on that create value for me the end user.

I use influxdb to store OHLC financial data and this would come in very handy. Seems like the only missing chart type out of all the available options today.
@darwayne OHLC is one of the big ones I'd like to do with candlesticks as well, influxdb is a perfect DB for it, just hard to visualize with current UI options 😢

Some work was started on this a few months ago, the branch is candlesticks: https://github.com/influxdata/giraffe/tree/candlesticks
Work on this stalled while addressing Flux not consistently returning tables in a predictable order.
A question from an attendee at InfluxDays 2020: "Any plans to have boxplots for visualization on the roadmap?"
This question/request is relevant here because a boxplot and a candlestick plot are very similar. We should keep this in mind when work begins on either of them. I would even suggest that a config toggle be added so that one single graph type encompasses both boxplot and candlestick chart.
