Are YouTube Developements Changing YTCC Functionality?

I see different page designs coming up on YouTube and was wondering if they are making changes that are or will affect YTCC.

• The "suggested playback quality" sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.
• "Autobuffer video" doesn't seem to control anyting. YouTube stops buffering as soon as the "pause" button is pressed.

Those are the main 2 that I use and would like to work better. Other functions may be affected as well. Thanks!
