randomly generate short filenames - the "random" filename style

Open imadethisfor1page opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

describe the feature you'd like to see

create a new file name style options that deviate from taking info from the source itself: any downloads get random, short words/titles attributed to them instead of following the source content (i.e, if i download a link, the filename can be randomly generated as "alpha", "charlie", 3-8 letter combinations, etc.)

additional context

none :)

honestly i would use this, mostly for when i download random videos off of twitter, because im weird and sometimes care a bit too much about my file names bc i end up overthinking it but honestly why not just rename the file yourself when you download it, just hit your keyboard and there you go, thats a file name

that's a setting on most browsers. just search for one that asks where should you save the file when downloading. pretty useful
