Keyboard types random characters when typing filename

Used to work fine, but I noticed yesterday that my keyboard will now start typing out different characters when I am using this to save a file.

I tried to type "download" when saving a file as type on this very page. If you hold down a key, it's consistent to what is typed in. But if I release and press the same key, it will come up with a new character. I have noticed it will pick characters adjacent, like numbers, or "qwertyui", like it's some sort of buffer overflow, which seems odd for a file save dialog box.

I can paste a filename from my clipboard in leiu of typing, so there is a temporary workaround.
