Keyboard not recognised correctly

I'd like to try out the program, unfortunately I cannot enter any commands. I think the problem is that I am using a German keyboard, which it seems not to recognised correctly. If I fake an US keyboard, I can enter : and then commands. If I open an Xmol file, I can view and rotate it, but unfortunately the most important key is not recognised, so editing is limited.
