Hi,

As you mention the synchrotron intensity template is taken from the 408MHz Haslam survey. Therefore, this is probably the best bet.

However, the synchrotron polarization templates are taken from the 23 GHz WMAP map. We also do not simulate important low frequency effects such as Faraday rotation, or polarized sources.

The code was really designed for the simulation of CMB experiments, and so I can not guarantee that at 1.4 GHz it is representative of the true sky.

I'm trying to use your code to simulate galactic foreground around 1.4 GHz, and I find that most your model components are high frequency, except the 408 MHz all sky survey. So is it OK to use your code for 1.4 GHz?

Hi, Thanks.

And I have another question (forgive me not to open a new issue in order to keep it clean for the issue board).

I read the document, and in the introduction section, I noticed

This code generates full-sky simulations of Galactic foregrounds in intensity and polarization relevant for CMB experiments.

Does it mean your code generate maps following the CMB polarization convention (i.e., the healpix convention), rather than the IAU convention?

The two polarization conventions
