Which C++ version required?

Hello, I can't find information about which minimal C++ version ("dialect") is required to build the IFC++. I'd like to compile the IFC++ with Visual Studio 2008 but the published .sln needs a higher version (2017?). So am I to try to make a .sln for VS 2008? (Knowledge about min. C++ version required would be nice for this.) Best regards, Lukas
