`pid.param` also needs to allow for input binning independent of output binning
The best thing we might be able to do at the moment is rebin this stage's outputs, as the transformation only tells us the signature to assign to a certain fraction of the content of any given bin. In the long run, changing the order of reco.param and pid.param could be an option. It would also allow providing reco error parameterisations dependent on the PID signature/bin, while parameterising event classification as a function of true energy instead of reconstructed energy doesn't seem like a huge drawback.
