Feature Request: New Cards Count

Open MarvNC opened this issue 2 years ago • 6 comments

Feature Description With all the customization in the latest update, it would be cool if the addon could have a text macro for showing the amount of new cards learned within the given time frame, where an "all time" option could also be used to show the total amount of cards learned. I have found that number to be quite motivating, to know how many cards I have learned within the past x amount of time.

Potential Issues This would likely have to ignore deleted cards, I think.

Alternatives Considered Any other alternatives or different features you might've also considered.

Additional context It's just a nice to have, the total reviews option was cool enough. Thanks!

Oh, defs sounds like something that might be nice to have! Will look into adding that.

(Might need to add a set of macros for cards (vs reviews), too, while I'm at it...will see.)

Actually, you might be a little interested in the state filter, too, even though it doesn't really count cards. It counts the number of reviews done where the card reviewed is currently in ___ state (to be honest, it's not my favorite implementation right now, so it might be updated in the future).

So something like %range_rev:state{review} could count the number of reviews done, where the cards are no longer new/learning for the current range.

Either way, thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks for the suggestion, though %range_rev:state{review} seemed to give a number a few hundred fewer than total reviews. anki_User_1_-_Anki_2023-05-28_21-13-28

Oh, hmm, might have to do with a couple other settings, but the modifier does show review counts based on the state of cards, so that might be a little less than easily usable, honestly.

Will probs try and update the modifier in the future, though, so will see if I can make that work. --Will also still try and look into adding the card count macros (along with some other ones, probs).

(May be able to also implement alongside #32.)

Just throwing my two cents here. I came here to specifically request this, good to see I'm not alone! Hope this gets added sometime :)

There is the browser search option introduced:1 (first answered) that does exactly this, if I'm not mistaken. So it would be entirely sufficient if #32 gets implemented.
