Add Hyperlink for Caliper in README

Open aayushk9 opened this issue 2 years ago • 6 comments

While reading through the README file for Caliper, I noticed that there is no hyperlink provided for Caliper. It would benefit newcomers to have a direct hyperlink to this page hyperledger.org/projects/caliper in the README. This page not only provides introductory information about Caliper but also includes an informative video, which could be particularly helpful for beginners seeking to understand what Caliper is and its functionalities.

I'll raise a PR soon.

If we do add this to the README then we really need to get hyperledger.org/projects/caliper updated first, it's very out of date.

Instead, can we simply include a link to the video? Either way, linking to the webpage or the video would provide newcomers with a very good understanding of Caliper

If we need to update the hyperledger.org/projects/caliper page, could you please provide more details on what changes are required?

  • the page states: when using the following blockchain solutions: Hyperledger Besu, Hyperledger Burrow, Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, FISCO BCOS, Hyperledger Iroha and Hyperledger Sawtooth. Caliper now only has capabilities for Hyperledger Fabric, Hyperledger Besu and Ethereum
  • Deploy Link goes to a 404
  • The wiki it points to is unmaintained now and inaccurate

@aklenik Thoughts ?

The hyperledger.org/projects/caliper page has now been updated.

As we don't have any easy control over this projects page I don't think we want to link to it. It's already out of date and I've not looked at the video but that's likely to be out of date as well. Creating a new video would require effort which IMO would be better spent putting it somewhere where we have direct control. Getting the project page change is a game of trying to find who is responsible for it and then asking them to change it.

All in all adding this to our README I don't believe is worth doing.
