Massive lag for a short period of time when the htop window is focused

I typically start up htop as soon as the computer turns on and leave it there running. If I leave the window unfocused for a long amount of time and focus it, it causes the compositor to lag (presumably due to the large sudden spike in CPU usage). This only happens with htop.

I'm on Arch, Hyprland, htop 3.3.0-3.
