Proposal for some logic fixes

Open Kayliii opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

I've noticed that there are times when the randomizer considers something out of logic that is actually pretty straight-forward, so I've decided to collect them in the hope that you'll be able to improve the logic. For a few I've noticed them not getting highlighted correctly in-game, but for others it's the result of looking at the stated logic and realizing it doesn't seem to make sense. I performed everything I'm suggesting here in-game to make sure it's actually doable.

  • Geo_Rock-Broken_Elevator_2 should be in logic with LEFTCLAW + RIGHTSUPERDASH.
  • Soul_Totem-Pilgrim's_Way can be reached from the city side with Broke_Pilgrim's_Way_Quake_Floor + (RIGHTCLAW | ANYCLAW + WINGS) (Though ANYCLAW is already implied by the logic for breaking the floor)
  • White_Palace_01[right1] can be achieved with White_Palace_01 + ANYCLAW + RIGHTSUPERDASH (Superdash from the 2nd small platform right of the bench), whereas the logic currently doesn't recognise right claw as a valid solution.
  • The same goes for White_Palace_01[top1], just with the added + Palace_Entrance_Lantern_Lit
  • Soul_Totem-White_Palace_Entrance should be in logic with RIGHTCLAW + LEFTSUPERDASH; it currently incorrectly expects you to also have FULLDASH.
  • Grub-Crystal_Peak_Crushers can be done with LEFTSUPERDASH, not just LEFTDASH.
  • Grub-Crystal_Peak_Spike can be gotten with just FULLCLAW (plus a single spike pogo), no need for any dashes or spell air stalls. Though you can also stall with CYCLONE | GREATSLASH, if you don't have any spells.
  • Broke_Pilgrim's_Way_Quake_Floor can be achieved with the combination of QUAKE + FULLCLAW + (CYCLONE | GREATSLASH). Maybe other means of air stalling also work, but I've only tested cyclone and greatslash.
  • Reaching White_Palace_14[right1] from White_Palace_14[bot1] can be done with (RIGHTDASH | RIGHTSUPERDASH | DASHSPRINT) + (WINGS | RIGHTCLAW + (RIGHTDASH | (LEFTCLAW + RIGHTSUPERDASH))); You never need to take the top path at all.
  • Reaching White_Palace_14[bot1] from White_Palace_14[right1] does not require RIGHTDASH. Additionally, instead of LEFTDASH you can complete it with DASHSPRINT + WINGS | LEFTSUPERDASH. I don't know how shriek pogos work though, so I don't know whether shriek pogo still requires FULLDASH or even any dash at all.
  • Reaching White_Palace_05[left1] from White_Palace_05[right1] can be done with LEFTCLAW + WINGS | FULLCLAW + LEFTDASH. It just involves pogoing a lot of sawblades.
  • Reaching White_Palace_05[right1] from White_Palace_05[left1] can be done with LEFTDASH | LEFTCLAW + RIGHTSUPERDASH. Though the superdash one requires tight timing and positioning, that are nearly impossible to guess if you don't know them. I've included an image to show how it works. I guess you can decide if this counts as obscure/precise/etc.? Image
  • Getting from White_Palace_15[right1] to White_Palace_15[left1] or White_Palace_15[right2] is just a straight shot down and shouldn't require anything (aside from a couple of sawblade / spike pogos).
  • Soul_Totem-White_Palace_Left and White_Palace_04[top1] can also be reached from White_Palace_04[right1] with SPRINT + WINGS + (RIGHTCLAW | LEFTSUPERDASH + LEFTCLAW + (CYCLONE | RIGHTDASH | RIGHTSUPERDASH)). Since this is pretty complex, I've included an image that shows the routing I managed to do. The image excludes the reason for SPRINT, which is that it lets you outrun the moving sawblade at the start of the room without having to dash. After you reach the vertical part on the left, the rest can be accessed with wings only, which was already required. Image
  • Similarly, reaching White_Palace_04[right2] from White_Palace_04[top1] doesn't require RIGHTDASH if you have SPRINT.
