Assist audio source selection
Hello there, I'm new and many thanks for this awesome project. I'd like to contribute by reporting this issue about the long awaited Assist feature.
Yes double checked it, there is no duplicate.
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
There is no audio source selection (microphone) when multiple are present. Assist fails to undersand absolutely all spoken words when the default selected source is processed without mean to change it.
Describe the solution you'd like
Add option in companion app parameters to select audio source for example:
- default
- mic
- unprocessed
- voice communication
- voice recognition
- bluetooth
- ...
Describe alternatives you've considered, if any
No alternative yet. I'm trying a wonky workaround bypassing companion app but without much success so far. The idea is to tweak the simple voice recorder app (which allows to select the audio source) to stream audio to ha server..
Additional context
Bump. Assist is super powerful, but it can be more useful if it can be truly hands-free. It fails miserably when I try to use it with my Bluetooth headsets on with my phone in my pocket. It would be great if there was a setting in the Companion App section that can set the precedence for microphone selection for Assist. This seems like a minor thing, but would unlock so much utility from Assist. So please make this happen 🙏
Same here. I am trying to use Bluetooth headset but while the companion app is designed to work like this ("Open with headset button” option) I can hear Assist perfectly well but it can only hear me via the microphone on the phone and not the headset.
Same problem here ! The bluetooth headset activates assistant, but the audio is recorded from the phone
