I am facing the exact same issue. Did you find any solution yet?

No, I haven't tried to move forward. Luckily I can wait.

You can try

mv ~/.netrc ~/.netrc.backup

and then login

sudo heroku login
sudo heroku container:login

Hi,

heroku container:login is intended to log you into the container registry, as described here: https://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/container-registry-and-runtime#getting-started .. if you follow those instructions and you still find you're not logged in, please try resetting your ~/.netrc file as described by another commenter. Please feel free to re-open if you find you are still having issues!
