Doc links are broken [API-1076]

Some links on this page and the same page for previous releases seems to be broken due to relative linking. Can we fix them?

I think we don't have to repeat the README in Doxygen's main page. We can create another markdown page with links to relevant places and add it to Doxygen's config.
