Is this project dead?

No commit in 3.5 years. One dependency is out of date and has vulnerabilities (minimatch). Another is deprecated entirely (nomnom). Issues untouched for years. Any chance this will see an update?

Yes it is. And so is the "took over". Use replace-in-file instead, it has the same syntax. https://www.npmjs.com/package/replace-in-file

I would suggest using frs-replace as it's a bit faster than replace-in-file.
