Show splash until browser page loaded

Open ambrosecoulter opened this issue 4 years ago • 6 comments

First off - excellent work on FullPageOS. Has saved me some time on a new project, much appreciated.

I wanted to touch base and see if it were to edit the confit to display the splash image until the browser page “finished loading” at all?

cheers!

Hey, It seems to work in the stable but not nightly, no news. If anyone wants to look in to it, that might help this to work. I don't have the time ATM

what do you mean it works in stable? doesnt the splash end before autologin? i thought the question was to keep it on screen until chromium is loaded and page is displayed. is there any way to acomplish this that i missed? thanks

I mean the splash loads on stable. I am not sure what exactly you want.

Hallo and also fro my side a big thank you for all your hadert wir on this project!

I was about to open an issue about exactly the same topic but found this one.

I would love to see the splash screen until the (in fullpageos.txt) configured website is loaded.

Right now its like :

  • power on the pi4
  • boot messages ... boot messages ... boot messages ... for about 5-6 Seconds
  • splash.png (/boot) for about 1 Second
  • boot messages ... for about 1 Second
  • black screen for about 15 Seconds < here it would be nice, if the splash.png would replace the black screen

Maybe there is a way to set the splash.png as "wallpaper" ? just in case, the black screen is something like a "Desktop" ?! Just guessing ...

You could do that. I am not sure how. FullPageOS uses matchbox-window-manager. It might be a good reason to switch to a diffrent window manager since it looks like its not heavily updated noways. It happens here: https://github.com/guysoft/CustomPiOS/blob/devel/src/modules/gui/filesystem/home/pi/scripts/start_gui#L21
