Older forms (pre-flex) used a class wrapper to allow sys.exit() outside WPF form context. https://github.com/gtalarico/revitpythonwrapper/blob/aeabe1dde3bc39081455efe20b65e70baccdaab5/rpw/ui/forms.py#L212
