Gaffer JSONDecodeError

Using the BlenderMarket build (Gaffer for b3.0.zip), I get this error in 3.0:

GafferError

Edit: This seems exclusive to the Steam version, of which I uninstalled and re-downloaded several times. Trying it on the version taken from the website eliminates this error.

That is pretty odd, thanks for the report. I've seen two messages like this from other users, though I'm not sure what actually causes it.

For the other reports, deleting the tags.json file (where the decode error is happening, in %appdata%\Blender Foundation\Blender\data\gaffer) fixes the issue, but I can't reproduce this so if you'd like me to fix the root cause of the problem I'll need you to send me your tags.json file so I can check why the error is happening. I suspect the file might be empty, so let me know if that's the case too.

Still facing this bug on linux. I think its due to "hdri_haven_hdris.json" missing when trying to reinstall the addon.

problem solved when deleting "/home/USER/.config/blender/data/gaffer/hdri_haven_hdris.json"
