Enables the message bus integration feature flag by default in the CLI settings. This allows for policy-based tool confirmation.
Summary of Changes
Hello @allenhutchison, I'm Gemini Code Assist[^1]! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!
This pull request enables the message bus integration feature flag by default within the CLI settings. This change ensures that tools will automatically respect policy engine decisions (ALLOW/DENY/ASK_USER) out-of-the-box, simplifying configuration and enhancing the security posture for new installations or users who haven't explicitly configured this setting. The update is consistently applied across the relevant configuration files and documentation.
Highlights
-
Default Feature Flag Enabled: The
enableMessageBusIntegrationfeature flag is now set totrueby default, streamlining policy-based tool confirmation. - Configuration Updates: The change is reflected across the CLI settings schema, the main settings JSON schema, and the user-facing documentation.

heads up, unfortunately the settingsSchema.ts defaults aren't yet reflected in the default value you get from settings.merged, they just ensure the correct default is shown in the settings dialog at the moment. So you will need to also tweak your logic that checks the value in from settings.merged to make sure it now treats undefined as enabled rather than disabled. Fyi @galz10 as it would be nice to remove this sharp edge using settingsSchema. Fixing will take a bit of work as a decent amount of existing code relies on the current behavior.
