Use of comments for research

Hi, first of all thank you for your amazing work on the R package to scrape comments.

I hope I am not out of topic, I thought this might be of common interest for tuber users, so I'll try. Apologies in advance if I am.

I am interested to use YouTube comments for academic research. I would like to understand what are YouTube's terms and conditions about using comments, are there any restrictions, limitations, any legal implications? I know they have a fair use policy, but I could not find a specific answer to my question. Before publishing results from a study, I would be interested to know if I am allowed to.
