Architecture page does not reflect recommendation against striped volumes
The architecture page lists striped volumes, and variants involving striping, along with all other volume types.
Justification for using striped volumes is provided, which would of course lead any new user to believe it is a valid choice, and many may use them.
The architecture page should clearly indicate the reasons they are not recommended, if this is the opinion of the developers, so that users are not mislead as to the viability and advantages of striped volumes.

@ileyd , @nixpanic has opened a discussion on this via http://www.spinics.net/lists/gluster-devel/msg20481.html . May be Niels will have a doc patch as soon as he close the discussion :)
@nixpanic can you please summarize it?
Please provide a status update on this - is this issue still relevant and should be worked upon?
Striped volumes are still on the linked docs, and should probably be removed or replaced by the shard volume option. I am not sure where sharding is explained in the documentation, maybe @KritikaDhananjay can help out with this.
