GitHub Enterprise Server Statistics [GA]

Summary

This feature seeks to help enterprise owners analyze how your team works, and help us improve our products by analysing server usage data and sharing this aggregate data with GitHub.

Intended Outcome

Our goal is to enable customers to get more out of GitHub Enterprise Server and to understand GHES usage using the same insight.

How will it work?

• GHES customers with GitHub Connect enabled opt into data sharing via the GitHub Connect page on GitHub Enterprise Server.
• Once enabled, Enterprise Server will aggregate high-level server metrics and transmit them to the customer's enterprise account for secure access and storage.
• An audit log entry will be created each time statistics are transmitted from Enterprise Server.
• Customers can access the data via a REST API endpoint or export the data via CSV/JSON via the GitHub Connect page on GitHub.com.

No personally identifiable data or sensitive customer data will be transmitted via this feature.
