Introducing metered GitHub Enterprise billing for Visual Studio subscriptions with GitHub Enterprise.

Scaling your GitHub usage is even easier. GitHub is expanding our pay-as-you-go usage-based billing and licensing reporting interface to include GitHub Enterprise (GHE) for Visual Studio subscriptions with GitHub Enterprise usage.

Expected Outcome

We announced pay-as-you-go billing for GHE and GHAS back in August 1, 2024 to give customers flexible self-provisioning and pricing. Since then, we've heard increasing demand to also have the same billing mechanism for accounts using Visual Studio subscriptions with GitHub Enterprise. Now, you not only have greater flexibility with pay-as-you-go billing, but administrators will also have greater control in mapping which users should consume a Visual Studio license versus a GitHub Enterprise metered license.
