Make billing usage reports more useful by providing a summarized report option
Value Prop
Customers depend on the billing usage report to analyze their usage-based charges and build confidence in GitHub’s billing platform. We frequently hear from our customers that the current report is too dense, resulting in files that are too large to work with effectively. By introducing a summarized usage report, we aim to cover the majority of customer use cases in a more accessible format. For those who need full detail, the detailed report will remain available and its underlying query will also be optimized as part of this release.
Expected Outcome
With summarized billing usage reports, customers will be able to self-serve and better understand their GitHub usage. Customers who previously encountered issues—such as reports not generating or being too large to analyze—will now be able to access the insights they expect when requesting billing data.
