markup AsciiDoc: LaTeX not rendering

According to the documentation, the following code should render to a formula:

:stem: latexmath

.An e-xciting limit with LaTeX!
[stem]
++++
\lim_{n \to \infty}\frac{n}{\sqrt[n]{n!}} = {\large e}
++++

Indeed, that is what happens on GitLab, but this is what happens on GitHub:
