Markdown bolding with ** stopped working

Hi there,

All bolding with ** has stopped working in this document. It shows inline in Edit mode, but doesn't render in either Preview mode or upon Commit. In addition, the bolding of table headers has also disappeared. I use a number of less popular MD features (e.g. inline rendering of LaTeX, sub- and superscripts, etc), so it might be some interaction in the renderer.

Just as a test, this is bolded in Preview!

Bolding stopped working. Even the README file of this repository does not show proper bolding.

Bold does not work here either. Even heading is not looking right. Google Chrome Version 84.0.4147.135 (Official Build) (64-bit)
