Add support for migrating repositories from GitLab sources, including gitlab.com and self hosted gitlab instances.

Any update on this, from my understanding this is a work in progress and currently in beta, but would really appreciate any update where possible. I assume this would replace the need for the github gl-exporter referred to here: https://github.github.com/enterprise-migrations/#/./2.2.2.1-export-from-gitlab-guide?id=create-an-export-archive

In the interim, is there public access to the existing gl-exporter, and can it be used in conjunction with the gh-gei extension?

@ArinGhazarian would you have any insights as to whether this is on a roadmap? We're looking to move our org from a self managed GitLab onto GitHub Enterprise but would really like the tooling to test out the migration and confirm that it's a viable migration for us to commit to.

Thanks @robandpdx , I've reached out to our Account Rep, so will see what they have to say. Is there anywhere in particular I can see the roadmap on the plans for these migrations tools? Seems like there's been quite a few changes with the process over the last few months and some API's being deprecated, so would like to ideally have a clear view of the recommended process moving forward.

We were informed that ECI would be sunset in March 2025. However, we haven’t received any further updates regarding the next steps. I'm keen to understand the migration approach for the GitLab repositories to GitHub
