Can't input into Copilot when text in Xcode is selected

Describe the bug

When you select some code in Xcode, you can't input into Copilot even you have selected Copilot as the focused app.

Versions

  • Copilot for Xcode: 0.43.139
  • Xcode: 26.0
  • macOS: 26.0

Steps to reproduce

  1. Select some code in Xcode
  2. Choose Copilot
  3. Input some thing

You can't input anything into Copilot.

Hi @owenzhao, thanks for reaching out.

We've attempted to reproduce the issue using the repo steps you provided, but we're unable to replicate it on our end with the following configuration:

  • Copilot for Xcode: 0.43.139
  • Xcode: 26.0
  • macOS: 26.0 (also tested on macOS 15.0)

Could you please share the log file located at ~/Library/Logs/GitHubCopilot/github-copilot-for-xcode.log? A screenshot or screen recording demonstrating the issue would also be helpful for diagnosing and resolving the problem more effectively.

I got it again. See this video. The selected code needs to be having error in. And that makes Xcode keeps getting focus, I think.
