Dance emojis keywords
👯, 💃 and 🕺 have respectively the keywords dancer, dancing and dance. It would be easier to find them if they shared the same keyword.
Good point.
I've been quite lazy with the data. It comes straight from Unicode, via copy and paste in the Chrome browser.
It is only slightly processed by me using a few quick global search and replace. I've been reluctant to go down the rabbit hole of checking all their tags.
Thoughts?
Did you see these files? http://unicode.org/Public/emoji/5.0/emoji-test.txt (there's a 4.0 version) http://unicode.org/repos/cldr/tags/latest/common/annotations/en.xml
@poweruser82 thanks for those files, they also use dance/dancer/dancing so would not help to simplify the keywords.
they might be useful for the next version of the data though, will take a look when the next Unicode emoji update is released
this is where i currently get the data: http://unicode.org/emoji/charts/emoji-list.html as it has everything (emoji, description, keywords) in one place
I don't know. Should the dictionary follow the standard verbatim? Should the "problem" be corrected in the standard? An opinion by Jeremy Burge or someone else working at the standard would be useful.
@poweruser82 the reason i use the data verbatim is to save time. i did not want to spend time correcting the data, and then have to do it again the next time the emoji is refreshed.
I know Jeremy, i will chat with him about this.
