synchronising with network

Hi, How long can it take to Synchronize with the network? I've been running the digital wallet locally on a 100mbps connection for a couple days and it says it's still 179 weeks behind. Is this typical to take so long to synchronize?

I'm running OS X version 0.6.6.0

I sent myself some coins and just want to make sure they're going to eventually show up in my digital wallet.

I'll correct the links. The Mac release used to be a fat binary, 32-bit and 64-bit. However the last 32-bit MacOS X on Intel is 10.7.5 over 5 years old, so I've decided to phase this one out of the release map.
