Retrieve Group SID in String format

Hi - is there a way to convert the group sid to the standard string format as in the example below?

S-1-5-21-28854893-1799698802-1116685130-29022

I have an application that stores the sid in this format and I'm trying to match it with what I'm getting from the AD groups I'm getting. I know this has been bantered around a bit but I haven't been able to find a working solution.

@Rob-ModernAnalytics as a side question, how were you actually able to get the sid at all ? I'm struggling on retrieving it at all, regarless of format
