@svenpet +1 on the comment above, and I would also like to see the Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, etc.

Also after looking at this talk I was wondering where does the Architect Role fit in ?

Thanks for your comments. I'll add Staff, Principal, and Distinguished Engineer to the roles. Also software designer and tech leads... What I've seen in a lot of companies that they sit on the same level as staff engineers or senior engineers in smaller orgs. Additionally I've seen in larger orgs that they have their own career path. Please give me 1 week or 2 ;P)
