Add support for GPT-4-Turbo
GPT-4-Turbo was announced today. Would love to see support in Cursor to switch to this model, at least when using your own API key.
Can't wait 🤯
I think it would be awesome to allow model selection for own key ...
I've been using Cursor alongside Visual Studio Code for some side projects here and there. It's really cool stuff! However, it's currently not possible for users selecting their own API model. Ideally, another dropdown under the OpenAI key selection would allow users to select their own API model, following the logic of other desktop API wrapper apps.
Apparently, according to forum discussions, Cursor needs to wait for OpenAI to grant them a larger API limit. However, the features like the 3x cheaper cost, 2023 update, 128k token limit, and model selection are game changers for user experience so hope to see some updates soon ! 🤞🏻 🍀
Just checking in where this is at, thanks!
Seems to be working on 0.15
@danw8989 Can you share a screenshot of turbo-4-1106 being used?
Just download new version and see IT for yourself, IT works with api key only for now
don't see it with v15.1 - macos
I'm curious about this too, been using 15.1 for most of my day and most of my openai usage has been standard gpt4
I discovered GPT-4 Turbo integrated into my Windows cursor, but it's not present in my Mac OS. Both systems are running version 0.15.1.
It's present on linux AppImage for 0.15.1.
It's present on...
Great, it's also available on OSX. Thank you for spotting that.
I still dont see it on OSX 0.15.1 maybe its rolling out

You have to check NOT in settings but in the chat window below input when you type prompt, as shown on @pegiadise screenshot
@romankupkovic Do you have OpenAI API key added in settings? Also do you have access to that model in OpenAI Playground (https://platform.openai.com/playground?mode=chat&model=gpt-4-1106-preview)?
So I just updated to 15.2 but it-s still not available. Do i need to go pro? I am not interested in the speed actually. i want the context window.
My API key with another program works immediately with the gpt-4-1106-preview...
Arch Linux - Appimage version..
EDIT: It works now.
It seems like this affect most uses on macOS and that win/Linux are fine. @karol-f you appear to be the only Mac user that have reported 4-turbo support - what environment do you have?
@birkskyum I wrote before that it's working fine on OSX. I've checked version 15.1 and 15.2
@birkskyum, I had the same issue on a MacBook-Air and it was solved using a new API Key. Updating Cursor to the new version didn't help at first but after using a new API Key, I am seeing all models.
@Ichy77 , thanks! That worked :)
I also had the same issue on MAC. Solved after creating a new API KEY. Thanks!
Maybe add GPT-4 [o] support instead?
You can already add it manually and use it
Should this issue be closed then @truell20 ?
