Consolidating Settings and Removing ?useless? ones. (Also screenshots of proposed new layout)
Red=remove
Blue=Not sure what's best
Black=Merge (In italics below)
MAIN: Trap Trimps - Seems pointless to all but the newest of users? Enable Patience - Either Remove or Add into AutoBreedTimer Toggle (Auto/AutoIgnorePatience/Off) Auto Finish Daily - Surely if Autoportal is on then this would be too? The zone mod provides enough customisation to just set it like 100 zones too high. AutoEggs - Should be AlwaysOn IMO?
Building Settings: Buy Storage & Buildings//Buy Storage//Buy Buildings//Don't Buy Buildings Buy Warp to hit Coord - Any time that this would actually activate, it is probably a good thing. Max Gyms, Max Tributes, Gym Wall - Is there much use for these? Warp Wall - Is it that useful? Script manages resources quite well already
Worker Settings: Auto Worker Ratios//Manual Worker Ratios//Don't Hire Trimps Auto Magmamancers - Gems are minimally important by magma tbh, just buy max Max Scientists & Explorers - Not v useful. Explorers are important now anyway Max Trainers - Is this ever REALLY that useful? Cap trainers % - the script manages resources well already
Equipment: Buy Armour Prestiges//Delay Armour Prestiges//Don't Buy Armour Prestiges Prestige Skip Mode 1+2//1//2//Neither
Maps: Automaps//Automaps No Unique//Off Siphonology - Should always be on IMO Prefer Metal - Garden is better res/min especially with cache. Max map for spire - does farm before spire not cover this fairly well anyway? grabbing +1 equips would make way more difference anyway Bionic before Spire - This is just not worth it with new map updates. Corruption Farm mode - Truthfully, I don't understand what this does. It looks like it should be on all the time Run New Voids and New Voids until - Just keep the 2nd box, -1 is off, +ive numbers add that number of zones to your VoidMap zone? Or -1 is off, +ive numbers give max zone. Trimple Z - Either remove, or add a second setting for mins to farm without spending before trimpling
Combat: Dynamic Gyms - does anybody even use this? At low zones, high block means your army is more durable, at high zones, block is negligible and wood on nurseries far outstrips gyms anyway
Scryer: Merge Die to Use and Suicide Z - (-1 is off, + number is min Scryer suicide zone)
Heirlooms AutoHeirlooms+Autoheirlooms2 - (AH1//AH2//Off)
DimGen: OnlyOC&1Time//Buy1Time//BuyOC//Neither ---- I'm not sure about this. It seems more logical than the current arrangement, but I don't know if I'm missing anything.
Suggestions for new settings: Trimple at Z as detailed above in Maps
Possible Noobmode toggle for settings only useful pre-magma
Under Combat and Stance Settings: A toggle (looks neat) or dropdown (meh) for each of the natures, overriding AutoStance: Poison(X//H//D//B?????//S) This could possibly be used to help with Ice/Windstacking(use S until 200 stacks, use D)
Map At Zone (Can't have Vanilla outdoing us on such a ?simple? thing as it doesn't play nice with AutoMaps)
Other ideas/issues: Change Autobreed timer to account for bleed/hyperspeed (I noticed that it didn't account for hyperspeed for some C2s etc) Function to export save to a backup of your trimps save in AT. Maybe a save every 15 mins or so? (helpful if you forget to export often). Integrate Perky Maxhousing buttons could all be condensed into a single button opening a pop up with however many input rows are necessary, instead of just 1, which would remove loads of buttons. Scryer settings should all have maybe//force//never, some are missing never. Perhaps a dynamic setting for nurseries (buy them if need health), or a base+delta that starts from no-nurseries-until (like with warps)?
Voting against removing Prefer Metal cause from what I've read Garden maps become useful only after you reach a certain stage of the game. I am not at that point yet so I don't know for sure.
i thought garden/metal were kinda tied until late game when garden wins by miles. Maybe add it to the list of settings that default to off and hide themselves on reaching a high enough zone.
Btw I did the pr for your fix to make it work.
Just want to throw in a quick comment on a couple of these as a "newest user" (I just recently reached zone 174 as my highest zone ever thanks to AT, but previously I had trouble breaking 50)
Core:
- Trap Trimps: At a very low level I found this toggle baffling. I'd say to trap trimps and it would instead farm metal. It was the worst when I just started a new portal, because I'd have 10/300 trimps (this was pre-Science III) and instead of spending 6 seconds trapping in order to buy some early farmers, lumberjacks, and scientists it would mine metal and keep sending trimps off to die instead of letting them breed. At a higher level I found this toggle pointless because breeding outpaced trapping. I think there should be a hard-coded rule like "if you're below half of your max trimps, start trapping". This way you don't get into the 10/300 bug. Since Coordination requires you send no more than half your trimps into battle, this should only trigger early game.
- AutoEggs: Did they nerf eggs? I don't really get the "I solemnly swear I'm up to no good" bit. I turned this on and for a long time nothing happened (I guess no eggs drop until you've beaten a certain zone, at which point they're unlocked?) and now every 10-15 zones I get.... 10 seconds worth of metal production? It's not really that strong. Looking at the wikia at best they drop a void map (some helium and a single heirloom? Yawn). I understand leaving a toggle (because every feature of AT is toggle-able) but I don't understand why it's considered "OP"
Worker Settings:
-
Auto Worker Ratios: I often found I disagreed with the ratios that "auto" decided on. For my run I may have wanted more miners during these zones, or more lumberjacks during those zones... Would it be possible to create a UI for setting up your desired ratios at several different zones? Something like a list of
zone / farmer / lumberjack / miner / scientistwith a+button to add a new item to the list. Then upon reaching the mentioned zone, the ratio is changed (until the next zone in the list is reached). That said, I did find it confusing at first that I'd manually set a ratio and it would immediately overwrite what I had set. Maybe changing a ratio manually should automatically change "Auto Worker Ratios" to off (or, as suggested, don't show the manual ratios unless you've changed it to "Manual Worker Ratios")
Map Settings:
This is one of the biggest pet peeves for me. I'm never happy with the map settings and they never seem to work right.
- Auto Maps: This does a terrible job of handling the Mapology challenge. It burns all of your map credits too early then you can't farm when you need to. Ideally when doing Mapology you only want to run for shield and dagger prestiges. I constantly have to toggle this and monitor my run when doing this as a challenge^2
- Run New Voids / New Voids Until: Confused me a lot why these were two settings. Simply setting "New Voids Until" to equal or less than "Void Maps" will effectively disable "Run New Voids"
- Trimple Z: Doesn't seem to work consistently. I used to have this at 35 and I thought it was running it, but now that I've gotten a bit farther I've turned off auto maps and looked at my list of maps around zone 160 and found it still not run.
- Map Special Modifier: Should be broken out into 3 options: "Special Modifier", "Perfect Sliders", and whatever the option is I'll unlock at zone 210. Currently doesn't seem to work because I have this turned on and yet it never generates maps with a special modifier.
-
Other (No Setting):
- AT seems pretty bad about running unique maps. I randomly looked at my list of maps on zone 160 once and noticed "Prison" and "Bionic Wonderland" for the first time. Neither had ever been run and I was missing out on permanent upgrades as a result
- When manually doing Mapology I would usually turn off Auto Maps, leave for a couple of hours, then come back and enable Auto Maps and watch it manually until it moved from Dagadder to Bootboost, at which point I would disable Auto Maps again... If enough time had passed between turning Auto Maps off and turning it back on, it would try to do a map that was way to high of a level and it would take 45 minutes or longer to complete a single map -- all to get a Supershield upgrade (not even a Dagadder). I believe if there are prestiges you haven't unlocked, it should look for the highest map level that you can one-shot in order to acquire these prestiges (since the prestiges will help you one-shot later map levels). Furthermore, this should probably be something you can disable or set a siphonology-based cap on, as lower map levels would prevent map stacks (which are rare and precious on Mapology)
- Early game block exceeds health dramatically in importance (at least pre-80/90). This made it very frustrating for me when sometimes AT would spend 2-3 hours farming a map for more health instead of proceeding 35 cells into the zone to grab Gymystic.
Heirlooms:
- Auto Heirloom / Auto Heirlooms 2: I agree these should be combined into one button, but it's not clear exactly what "Auto Heirlooms 2" even is. Auto Heirlooms tells you the priority (void map drop, trimp attack, crit chance, etc). Auto Heirlooms 2 just says "this will override Auto Heirlooms 1". It doesn't say what the new algorithm is.
