The `matrix` mode `unstop = true` conflicts with `luukvbaal/statuscol.nvim` under certain `setup` settings

Problem

With unstop=true, my SmoothCursor doesn't keep changing its current character on .lua files. It does work in the buffer of oil.nvim. (shown in the video below)

Expect Behaviour

The SmoothCursor should always be dancing in the sign column.
