AviTab 0.7.1 does not work with the new version of X-Plane 12.1.4-b2
Hello, The new version of X-Plane version 12.1.4 b2 no longer works, the other online aircraft are not displayed in AviTab. With X-Plane 12.1.4-b1 and AVITAB 7.1 it works and is displayed. Is this already known? Best regards
Hi,
if a beta release of X-Plane breaks a feature of AviTab, then the issue is more likely to be in X-Plane. Please report this issue to LR instead.
this problem still exists. VATSIM traffic is correctly displayed in LittleNavMap and LR's built-in map which indicates this is an issue with AviTab. Tested with X-Plane 12.2.0 RC1, Avitab 0.7.1, xPilot 3.0.1 and LNM 3.0.16 on Linux (Ubuntu 22.04.5)
i checked LNM's git log (lnm and littlexpconnect) but didn't spot any related fixes to multiplayer aircraft. with my non-existent c/c++ knowledge i found that avitab checks an 'active' flag from an XPLM command to decide whether to show/check multiplayer a/c. LNM does not do that.
so i connected to VATSIM as observer with 2 XP AI aircraft enabled. with this setup avitab showed one multiplayer a/c symbol (which was not visible in-sim at the location depicted in avitabs map) but still not the VATSIM traffic, see screenshot
EDIT: in 2021 LNM switched to using the "New TCAS AI/multiplayer interface" (reading sim/cockpit2/tcas/XYZ datarefs) and uses the "old AI/multiplayer interface' only as a fallback in case 0 TCAS aircraft are reported. my guess is LR fixed/changed the old AI/multiplayer interface to only report LR AI aircraft during the 12.1.4 dev cycle.
i managed to integrate the TCAS multiplayer datarefs, screenshot available on the X-Org.
I'll prepare a patch for reviewing my changes soon
EDIT: managed to create a PR, patch deleted
XP12 12.3.0 beta 2 resolves this issue - traffic is displayed again in AviTab v0.7.1
