definitely yes. in fact there is already some parts that require C++14, i.e. https://github.com/foxtacles/vaultmp/commit/7e84b8d790c65d2945338bda9e38dd957a242651

but before embracing C++17 the code base probably needs to be fixed to work with the most recent GCC version i think
