Versatile trait does not work on attached shield weapons.

You simply cannot click on the button to switch the damage. No errors.

Your screenshot looks a little odd since there's no support for shield augmentations at the moment.

The augmentation is custom, yes, but this applies to any weapon like Shield Boss or Spikes with the added Versatile trait on it.
