Very nice project! It inspired me to build my own 8x8 matrix clock. The only what disturbed me on your design is that some words are interrupted or broken. So I wrote a C program to find all word combinations in a matrix. This is my favorite English version: TWENTYQR EHALFIVE N*JPASTO SSKTWONE EIGHTFIF VXTREINO ETWELVEU NELEVENR The only compromise is the abbreviations for “QUARTER” -> “QR”. Feel free to use this in your word clock project.

P.S. For the German version I found over 1600 solutions without interrupts, breaks or abbreviations -JK-

Hello from North Carolina in USA.

I also took the Micro Word Clock and made my own: http://pablo-sanchez.com/8x8-word-clock-with-rtc/

I used a bigger (6cm x 6cm) LED matrix, however. I also added a real time clock to the project.

I altered the code so that it allows the clock to have multiple languages built in. You can set the language by holding down the button when it is powered up. I have not published my changes yet, but I can share them with you for testing.

Also, would you share your C program? I was using a spreadsheet to find combinations and to create the needed maps.

Thanks a lot for your contributions! Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to properly add your layouts to the repo myself at this time. I kindly invite you to add them yourself if you wish! :)

I guess you already know, but I would need the .c file in the Arduino folder, as well as a corresponding .svg and .png for the Graphics folder. You can of course add your entry to the 'Contributions' section of the Readme.md

I am searching for a French Layout. Someone named Pablo Sanchez says he made one, but I did not find a picture/description of it.

I builded a French layout (actually a few), but they require two separate display (in sequence), one for the hour, and on for the hour modifier. I see no other way on 8x8:
