Merging ca-scripts with existing ca infrastructure

I already have a CA and several self generated certificates. Is is possible (an how) to get ca-scripts working with existing keys/certs/serial/dh?!

I've not looked at this code in ages, not sure how easy that would be... I don't think it's impossible, first guess would be to use the CA scripts to generate a CA then simply replace the root cert / key with your own ones. Good luck ;-)
