`firefox_addons` native column is missing values

Open zhumo opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

Problem

From our windows testing: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1i1tY4bMpBHCQQQ75SgfBtP9lu52pdGdS_39PiLDc-j4/edit?usp=sharing

The native column is advertised in the schema to have the value of 1 If the addon includes binary components else 0. The output we get from running .all firefox_addons doesn't have either or those values or null. It's just empty.

One hypothesis that we had was that this column refers to whether the addon is using C/NPAPI, which is basically deprecated. If so, maybe we should just get rid of this column?

Requirements

  • Investigate why this is so and determine what are next steps

This was deprecated in 2015? https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2015/05/04/dropping-support-for-binary-components/

If so, I think we can remove it.

Do you mean remove the table or the column?

Remove just the column.
